Having trained as a CHUK instructor in 2018 and qualified as an advanced CHUK instructor in Jan 2019, Teresa now focuses on the low impact sport of Hoopers, a discipline that is not only suitable for all breeds and ages of dog but also caters for handlers with mobility issues.
Hooper courses are smooth and free flowing, through hoops, tunnels/ chutes, over mats and around barrels - no jumping, no sharp turns.
Ideally, the dog learns to negotiate a course with the handler remaining in a designated area.
But at Dogs in Tune we recognise that all partnerships are individual.
Previous training and life experience play a big part in how much can be achieved.
The most important factor is that both handler and dog are enjoying working together with the bond between them strengthening.
5.mp4All training is force free, with dogs being motivated by play and reward.

In early 2019 some of those who came to the hooper classes asked about competing, resulting in the formation of Hoopers Hooligans.
Starting with progression events we now hold 9 CHUK licensed shows a year, dependent upon a very small but dedicated group of volunteers.
Both trainers, Teresa and Sandra work and compete with their own dogs,
Along with June, Sandra and Teresa are also the CHUK Judges at our shows.
Sandra - Hoopers trainer and CHUK judge
with her Working Cockers - Millie and Rolo
June - CHUK judge
